Skoda now offers the classic in Classic+ and Prestige+ trims. Here’s what we know so far.
Skoda Kylaq Classic+ & Prestige+ trims:

Skoda India has refreshed the Kylaq compact SUV lineup by adding two new variants called Classic+ and Prestige+, giving buyers more choices depending on their budget and feature needs. The new Classic+ variant is priced at Rs. 8.25 lakh, while the top-end Prestige+ costs Rs. 11.99 lakh, both ex-showroom. With these additions, the Kylaq range now includes six trims: Classic, Classic+, Signature, Signature+, Prestige, and Prestige+. The Classic+ sits just above the base model and brings in several useful upgrades that many buyers look for today. These include an electric sunroof, cruise control for easier highway driving, rain-sensing wipers, and an auto-dimming inside rear-view mirror. It also gets 16-inch steel wheels with covers, rear LED reading lamps, and a four-speaker music system, making it a more comfortable and better-equipped option than the standard Classic trim. Skoda’s aim with this update is clearly to make the Kylaq more attractive in a very competitive segment, where buyers expect good features even in lower variants. The brand has carefully placed this variant to bridge the gap between the entry-level and mid-level trims, making the lineup more balanced and appealing for first-time SUV buyers.
At the top of the range, the newly introduced Prestige+ variant takes things a step further by offering more premium features and a more stylish look. This range-topping trim comes with LED projector headlamps, LED fog lamps, and eye-catching 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels that give the Kylaq a sportier and more upmarket appearance. Inside the cabin, Skoda has added features that focus on comfort and luxury, such as powered and ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, and a wireless charging pad for smartphones. There are also soft-touch materials on the door pads, which add to the premium feel of the interior. Automatic versions of the Prestige+ also come with paddle shifters, giving drivers more control and a slightly sportier driving experience. Despite these updates in the variant lineup, the engine and transmission options remain the same. The Kylaq continues to use the 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 115 PS of power and 178 Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed torque converter automatic. It is interesting to note that while the Kylaq still uses this automatic unit, Skoda has updated the Kushaq facelift with a new eight-speed automatic, and the larger 1.5-litre petrol engine now comes only with a seven-speed DSG, as the manual option has been discontinued.

With this update, the starting price of the Skoda Kylaq now stands at Rs. 7.59 lakh (ex-showroom), making it one of the more competitively priced options in the sub-four-metre SUV segment. This category is extremely crowded in India, with strong rivals like the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Tata Punch, and Hyundai Exter. Each of these models offers its own mix of style, features, performance, and pricing, which means customers have plenty of choices. By introducing the Classic+ and Prestige+ trims, Skoda is trying to attract both budget-focused buyers and those looking for a more premium experience without moving to a larger or more expensive SUV. The added features, improved comfort, and wider variant spread make the Kylaq a more complete package than before. This update shows that Skoda is listening to customer needs and responding with practical changes rather than just cosmetic updates. Overall, the refreshed lineup makes the Kylaq a stronger contender in its segment, offering something for almost every type of buyer, from those looking for a simple, affordable SUV to those who want more comfort, tech, and style in their daily drive.
