Vinfast slammed by Bharat NCAP:

VinFast has achieved a major milestone in India after its two electric SUVs, the VF 6 and VF 7, received a 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP, making them some of the safest vehicles currently tested in the country. In the Adult Occupant Protection category, the VF 6 scored 27.13 out of 32 points, while the VF 7 performed even better with 28.54 points. For Child Occupant Protection, the VF 6 secured 44.41 out of 49 points and the VF 7 achieved 45.25 out of 49, showing that both models offer strong protection for families as well. During frontal offset crash tests, both SUVs earned full marks for protecting the head, neck, and upper legs of the driver and front passenger, which are critical areas in serious accidents. Their performance in side impact tests was also impressive, further proving the strength of their body structure and safety systems. In addition, both vehicles achieved perfect scores in the side impact category, with 16 out of 16 points for adult occupants and 8 out of 8 for child occupants. The pole side impact test, which checks how well a vehicle protects passengers when it hits a narrow object like a pole or tree, also showed strong results. The head injury values recorded were much lower than the danger limit set by Bharat NCAP, meaning the chances of serious head injuries are reduced in high-impact situations.
Bharat NCAP, which is operated under the Government of India, follows crash testing standards that are similar to those used by global programs like Global NCAP and ASEAN NCAP. These tests are designed to give buyers a clear idea of how safe a vehicle really is in real-world crash situations. Cars are rated based on how well they protect adult and child occupants, with scores ranging from three to five stars. Getting a 5-star rating is considered a big achievement, as it shows that the vehicle meets the highest safety standards currently set for the Indian market. With both the VF 6 and VF 7 receiving this top rating, VinFast has positioned itself strongly as a brand that focuses on safety along with modern electric technology. This is especially important in India, where road conditions and traffic can be unpredictable, making strong safety systems a key factor for buyers. The company’s focus on safety also reflects a growing trend among carmakers to offer better protection as standard, rather than limiting it to higher variants. By achieving these results early in its journey in India, VinFast has shown that it is serious about building trust among customers who are increasingly aware of safety ratings before making a purchase.

Both the VF 6 and VF 7 are assembled at VinFast’s manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu and are built on a dedicated electric vehicle platform, which allows better space, improved crash structure, and more efficient placement of batteries and safety components. As standard, both SUVs come with seven airbags and a high-strength body structure designed to absorb and spread impact energy during a crash. Depending on the variant, buyers can also get advanced driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, emergency lane keeping assist, front and rear automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and auto lane change assist. These features help reduce the chances of accidents by warning the driver or even taking action when needed. Together, these systems not only protect passengers during a crash but also help prevent accidents from happening in the first place. With strong crash test results, modern safety technology, and local production, the VF 6 and VF 7 stand out as well-rounded electric SUVs that focus on both performance and peace of mind. Their 5-star Bharat NCAP rating is not just a number, but a clear message that VinFast is committed to offering safer and more reliable electric vehicles for Indian roads.
