The three-row and seven-seater segment kicked off 2026 on a strong note, with several well-known nameplates registering healthy year-on-year gains and reaffirming their relevance among Indian family buyers. Leading the pack once again was the ever-reliable Maruti Suzuki Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which posted an impressive 17,892 units in January 2026. This marked a solid jump from the 14,248 units sold in January 2025, translating to a 26 per cent growth. The Ertiga’s continued success highlights its strong value proposition, practical cabin, and reputation for low ownership costs. Close behind in second position was the Mahindra Mahindra Scorpio, which managed 15,542 units last month. While the growth was modest at 1 per cent year-on-year, the Scorpio range remains a consistent performer, and the upcoming mid-cycle update for the Scorpio N could further strengthen its appeal in the months ahead.

The third position was claimed by the rugged Mahindra Bolero, which turned out to be one of the biggest gainers among high-volume models. With 11,841 units sold in January 2026 compared to 8,682 units a year ago, the Bolero registered an impressive 36 per cent growth. In fourth place, the newly introduced Mahindra XUV 7XO made a notable debut by clocking 10,133 units, signalling strong initial demand in the segment. The fifth spot went to the Toyota Toyota Innova lineup, including the Crysta and Hycross, which together posted 9,455 units. This was a slight dip from the 9,780 units recorded in January 2025, reflecting a minor 3 per cent decline. Meanwhile, the Kia Kia Carens secured sixth place with 5,633 units, registering a marginal 2 per cent improvement over last year’s figures.
Further down the list, the premium-leaning Maruti Suzuki XL6 reported 3,820 units, reflecting a 13 per cent decline compared to January 2025. The Toyota Fortuner followed with 3,046 units, witnessing a mild 3 per cent dip year-on-year. However, the Renault Renault Triber stood out with a massive 72 per cent surge, climbing to 2,509 units from 1,456 units last year. Rounding off the top ten was the Tata Motors Tata Safari, which recorded 2,375 units and a healthy 53 per cent growth. The recent addition of a petrol powertrain appears to be drawing new buyers, reinforcing the Safari’s presence in the competitive three-row space. Overall, January 2026 showcased steady demand across multiple price brackets, with both legacy models and newer entrants contributing to the segment’s strong start to the year.
