BMW Motorrad has showcased the new F 450 GS in the EICMA 2025. This the brand’s latest unviel since the discontinuation of the G 310 GS. The entry level ADV from the company is set to compete against TVS, KTM, Royal Enfield and more. Here’s what we know so far.

The upcoming BMW F 450 GS is an exciting new entry-level adventure motorcycle designed to deliver a balance of power, control, and agility in the compact adventure segment. At its heart is a newly developed 420cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that produces a robust 48 horsepower at 8,750 rpm and a peak torque of 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm, which is optimized for smooth, manageable power delivery. This engine features a 135-degree crank offset and is equipped with a balance shaft to reduce vibrations, ensuring calm and refined operation. Power is transmitted via a six-speed gearbox coupled with a left-side chain drive, and many variants come equipped with BMW’s Shift Assistant Pro, enabling clutchless upshifts and downshifts for seamless and sportier riding experiences. One standout feature found in the top GS Trophy variant is the Easy Ride Clutch, which automates clutch engagement at low speeds to prevent stalling, while still allowing manual clutch control when desired for technical riding.

BMW F 450 GS

The F 450 GS has a lightweight chassis based on a tubular steel frame that uses the engine as a stressed member to enhance strength and rigidity without adding excess weight. The bike weighs approximately 178 kg kerb weight, making it nimble and easy to handle both on and off road. The suspension setup consists of a 43mm upside-down KYB front fork and a preload-adjustable KYB rear monoshock, with the Sport and GS Trophy variants featuring additional rebound and compression adjusters along with sport-tuned settings to suit varied profiles of riders and terrain. The F 450 GS runs on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels shod with tubeless dual-sport tires, striking a good balance between road manners and off-road capability.

The bike also features modern conveniences such as a 6.5-inch TFT full-color display with Bluetooth connectivity, heated grips, adjustable levers, and multiple riding modes tailored for various conditions.
