New Tata Punch variants:

Tata Motors has officially launched the 2026 Punch facelift in India, with prices starting at Rs. 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This updated version of the popular micro SUV comes with several mechanical improvements, new variant options, and more features, making it more appealing to both new and existing buyers. One of the biggest highlights is the introduction of a new 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, known as the iTurbo, which is borrowed from the Nexon. This engine produces 120 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque and is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. This new turbo option gives the Punch a sportier and more performance-focused feel, especially for buyers who want more power in a small SUV. Tata has also expanded the transmission options, making the Punch more versatile. For the first time in this segment, the Punch CNG now comes with an AMT gearbox along with paddle shifters, which adds to driving convenience. Thanks to Tata’s dual-cylinder CNG layout, the boot space remains usable at 210 litres. Safety continues to be a strong point, as the Punch retains its five-star Bharat NCAP rating. Tata has also revealed that nearly 70 percent of Punch buyers are first-time car owners, showing its strong appeal among new drivers. To make the car even safer, six airbags are now standard across all variants, along with ESP and multiple drive modes.

The 2026 Punch facelift is available in six variants and comes in six exterior colour options, including Cyantafic, Caramel, Bengal Rouge, Daytona Grey, Coorg Clouds, and Pristine White. Even the base Smart variant is well-equipped, offering LED headlamps, electronic stability programme, Eco and City drive modes, remote keyless entry, iTPMS, and a newly designed steering wheel borrowed from the Nexon. As you move up the range, the feature list grows noticeably. The Pure and Pure+ trims add rear AC vents, steering-mounted controls, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, a reverse camera, Type-C fast charging, and a height-adjustable driver’s seat. The Adventure variant takes things a step further by focusing on technology and comfort. It gets features like a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, push-button start, automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, and 15-inch styled steel wheels. At the top end, the Accomplished and Accomplished+ variants feel almost premium, offering 16-inch alloy wheels, LED DRLs and tail lamps, a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, seats with extended thigh support, a voice-assisted electric sunroof, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and Tata’s iRA connected car tech.

Design-wise, the facelifted Punch looks fresher and more modern than before. Tata has updated the headlamps and tail lamps, redesigned the bumpers, refreshed the grille, added new LED DRLs, and included a full-width LED light bar at the rear, giving it a more premium and futuristic appearance. The new dual-tone alloy wheels further enhance its sporty look. Inside the cabin, there are several upgrades too, such as a new steering wheel with an illuminated logo, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, an eight-speaker sound system, and a touch-based climate control panel. The fabric seat design is inspired by the Punch EV, and both front and rear seats now offer extendable thigh support for better comfort on long drives. All passengers get 3-point seatbelts, improving overall safety. A single-pane sunroof is also available on select variants. Under the hood, buyers can choose between a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 88 hp and 115 Nm, or the new turbo petrol option delivering 120 hp. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual, AMT, and a 6-speed manual for the turbo variant. With these updates, Tata has made the 2026 Punch more stylish, safer, and feature-rich, while still keeping it practical and beginner-friendly.
