January 2026 Motorcycle Sales

The opening month of the new calendar year proved encouraging for performance-driven and commuter-focused motorcycles alike, with Bajaj Auto, KTM and Triumph Motorcycles registering notable momentum across categories. Bajaj’s volumes were once again anchored by the ever-popular Bajaj Pulsar 125, which led the brand’s tally with 67,081 units in January 2026, reflecting an 11 per cent year-on-year improvement. The commuter-centric Bajaj Platina followed with 33,520 units and a healthy 23 per cent growth, reaffirming steady rural and urban demand. Meanwhile, the sportier Bajaj Pulsar 160 and Bajaj Pulsar 200 twins combined for 29,048 units, surging 76 per cent and highlighting rising interest in accessible performance motorcycles.

Beyond petrol-powered offerings, Bajaj’s electric push continued to gather pace with the Bajaj Chetak recording 28,216 units, up 34 per cent over the previous year. In the mid-range space, the Bajaj Pulsar 150 maintained stable traction with 23,174 units, while the Bajaj Pulsar 220 emerged as a surprise performer, soaring 126 per cent to 9,398 units. At the entry level, the Bajaj CT 100 managed modest gains, though the CNG-powered Bajaj Freedom saw volumes dip. Cruiser enthusiasts showed renewed interest in the Bajaj Avenger 220, which posted triple-digit growth, even as the Avenger 180 struggled. Bajaj’s premium portfolio also reflected improved traction, with the Bajaj Dominar 250 and Bajaj Dominar 400 both recording strong percentage increases, albeit on relatively smaller bases.

Overall, January 2026 reflected a balanced demand pattern: commuters continued to prioritise efficiency and value, while an expanding base of enthusiasts gravitated toward performance-oriented and premium motorcycles.
