The facelifted Tata Punch has now been officially revealed, and its launch is scheduled for 13 January. Even before the official launch, many details about its variants and features have been leaked online, giving us a clear idea of what to expect. The updated Punch will be sold in six variants: Smart, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Accomplished, and Accomplished+ S. Except for the Smart variant, all other grades remain similar to the older version, while the Creative+ and Creative+ S trims have been discontinued. One of the biggest highlights of this facelift is the addition of LED headlights, which will now be offered from the base variant itself. The Smart grade also gets important safety and convenience features like remote keyless entry, City and Eco driving modes, six airbags, ESP, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. This shows that Tata is focusing more on safety and basic comfort, even in the lower trims. The Pure variant builds on this by adding features aimed at comfort, such as a front armrest with storage, rear AC vents, steering-mounted controls, a rear defogger, and an anti-glare rear-view mirror. However, it still misses out on a touchscreen infotainment system, just like the Smart variant.

Moving up the range, the Pure+ variant starts to feel like a more complete package. It introduces several features that most buyers look for, including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, a USB Type-C charging port, a height-adjustable driver seat, and a high-quality reverse camera. These additions make it a strong option for those who want modern tech without spending too much. The Adventure grade pushes things further by adding more premium touches, such as stylised 15-inch wheels, rain-sensing wipers, a rear wiper and washer, passive keyless entry, and automatic climate control. It also improves safety and ease of use with automatic headlights and a 360-degree camera system. Then comes the Accomplished grade, which focuses more on design and advanced technology. It gets new 16-inch alloy wheels, refreshed LED DRLs, connected LED tail lights, and a much larger 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It also features a new touch-and-toggle climate control panel, similar to what is seen in Tata’s bigger and more expensive cars. Even with all these upgrades, this variant still misses a few important features, which might make some buyers think twice.

The top-end Accomplished+ S variant is where Tata adds its most eye-catching feature — a voice-assisted electric sunroof. This is a big upgrade for the Punch and makes it feel more premium than ever. Along with this, it also gets LED fog lamps with a cornering function, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a wireless phone charger, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and connected car technology. These features are usually seen in higher segments, and their inclusion shows Tata’s effort to make the Punch more appealing to tech-loving customers. Under the hood, Tata is expected to continue with the same 1.2-litre petrol and petrol-CNG engines, without any major mechanical changes. However, there is a chance that the brand may introduce the option of a 5-speed automated manual transmission for the CNG version, similar to what is available in the Tiago and Tigor. Overall, the facelifted Tata Punch seems to focus on adding more comfort, safety, and modern features across all variants, making it a stronger competitor in its segment while still keeping things simple and practical for everyday users.

Stay tuned and follow up for more.
