Hyundai Taxi Versions India

Hyundai Motor India has officially entered the commercial vehicle space with the launch of its new Prime Taxi range, marking an important step for the brand as it now aims to directly serve taxi operators and fleet owners across the country who are mainly focused on reliability, low running costs, and vehicles that can handle long hours of daily use without frequent downtime, and under this new Prime range, Hyundai has introduced two models that are already familiar to Indian buyers, the Prime HB hatchback which is based on the Grand i10 Nios, and the Prime SD sedan which is derived from the Aura, both of which have been specially prepared to meet the needs of commercial usage while still maintaining the comfort and quality that Hyundai cars are known for, and just like their regular versions, both these models are powered by Hyundai’s trusted 1.2-litre Kappa four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a factory-fitted CNG system, a combination that has been chosen to ensure smooth performance, high fuel efficiency, and long-term durability, especially for drivers who cover many kilometres every day, making these cars suitable for city taxi operations as well as longer intercity runs.

To make the Prime Taxi range fully ready for commercial use straight from the showroom, Hyundai has also added a company-fitted speed limiting function that caps the top speed at 80 kmph, ensuring that the cars meet all commercial vehicle regulations without the need for any modifications after purchase, and when it comes to running costs, the brand has clearly focused on affordability, with the Prime SD sedan offering a claimed mileage of 28.40 km per kg on CNG and the Prime HB hatchback delivering 27.32 km per kg, figures that translate into an estimated running cost of around 47 paise per kilometre, which is very attractive for full-time taxi operators who rely on consistent earnings, and by offering such low operating costs along with Hyundai’s wide service network, the Prime range has been positioned as a practical income-generating option for fleet owners who want predictable expenses and peace of mind over the long term.

Unlike many budget-focused commercial vehicles that compromise heavily on safety and comfort, Hyundai has ensured that the Prime Taxi models still offer a good level of equipment to keep both drivers and passengers comfortable and protected, with standard features such as six airbags, rear AC vents, front and rear power windows, rear parking sensors, emergency stop signal, and three-point seatbelts for all occupants, while additional comfort and convenience features like height-adjustable driver seating, steering-mounted audio controls, footwell lighting, and a Type-C USB fast charging port further improve the overall experience, and for fleet operators who want more technology, Hyundai is also offering optional accessories including a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a rear-view camera, and a vehicle tracking system with four panic buttons for added safety, all of this is supported by a special ownership package that includes extended warranty coverage of up to five years or 1,80,000 kilometres, flexible finance options with loan tenures of up to 72 months, and dedicated Fleet Care Advisors at dealerships, making ownership easier and more hassle-free, with bookings now open across India for a token amount of Rs. 5,000 and prices starting at Rs. 5.99 lakh for the Prime HB and Rs. 6.89 lakh for the Prime SD, both ex-showroom.

Stay tuned and follow up for more.
