MG Majestor launch in India

MG Motor India is getting ready to launch its new flagship SUV, the Majestor, on February 12, 2026, and it will sit at the very top of the brand’s lineup in the country, above the Gloster. With this model, MG wants to strengthen its position in the full-size SUV segment and compete directly with popular names like the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, and other big SUVs in the category. The Majestor was first shown to the public at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, where MG presented three near-production models for the Indian market. Along with the Majestor, the company also displayed the Cyberster and the M9, both of which are already on sale through MG’s premium MG Select dealerships. Over the past few months, the Majestor has been spotted testing on Indian roads several times, hinting that its launch is not too far away. Instead of replacing the Gloster, this new SUV will be positioned above it and will be more premium, bold, and aggressive in terms of styling. It is based on the same Maxus D90 platform, which uses a body-on-frame setup, making it strong and suitable for tough road conditions, something buyers in this segment usually prefer. MG seems confident that the Majestor will attract buyers who want a large, powerful, and stylish SUV with modern features and a strong road presence.

When it comes to design, the Majestor clearly stands out from the Gloster with its tougher and more striking look. At the front, it gets a darker and bolder grille, sharper LED daytime running lights, and vertically placed LED projector headlamps that give it a more aggressive face. The bumpers have been redesigned, and new skid plates have been added, making the SUV look more rugged and ready for adventure. From the side, the Majestor features new 19-inch twin-spoke alloy wheels, thick black cladding around the body, and chunky wheel arches that further add to its muscular appearance. The roof and pillars also get blacked-out elements, giving it a sportier and more premium feel. At the back, the SUV comes with a fresh tail lamp design, a new bumper, and bold “Majestor” lettering on the tailgate, which helps it stand out from other MG models. It also gets a dual exhaust setup, adding to its powerful and high-end look. Overall, MG has focused heavily on making the Majestor look more stylish, bold, and commanding, which is important in a segment where road presence plays a big role in buying decisions.

Under the hood, the MG Majestor is expected to use the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel engine that is already available in the Gloster. This engine produces around 213 bhp and 478 Nm of torque, which should be more than enough for highway driving, city use, and even some off-road conditions. It will most likely come with an automatic gearbox, and MG may also offer a selectable four-wheel-drive system for those who want better grip and control on rough roads. Inside, the Majestor is expected to feel more luxurious and tech-focused than the Gloster. It is likely to feature a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a 12.3-inch digital driver display. The SUV could also get a 12-speaker sound system, MG’s iSmart connected car technology, powered front seats with ventilation and massage functions, and a panoramic sunroof for a more open and premium feel. Comfort will be further improved with three-zone automatic climate control, allowing different temperature settings for different rows. In terms of safety, the Majestor is expected to offer a strong package with features like Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, and several other advanced systems to assist the driver. With its bold design, powerful engine, premium interior, and modern safety features, the MG Majestor aims to be a strong new option for buyers looking for a large, stylish, and feature-packed SUV in India.
