New Kia Seltos:
Kia has officially taken the wraps off the next-generation Seltos in a global premiere held right here in India, reaffirming the country’s importance as a key market for the brand. The updated Seltos has been conceived as a more mature and premium midsize SUV, growing in size and stature to appeal to buyers who want a bolder, more sophisticated offering. Kia has opened bookings across India starting midnight, with customers able to reserve the SUV for an initial token amount of ₹25,000. Prices will be revealed on January 2, 2026, and deliveries are scheduled to begin by mid-January, ensuring early buyers don’t have to wait long.

One of the most noticeable changes is the SUV’s expanded footprint. The new Seltos measures 4,460 mm in length and 1,830 mm in width, making it the longest vehicle in its segment. The wheelbase stands at 2,690 mm, and both its width and height have been increased to further elevate its road presence. These enhancements give the Seltos a more commanding stance, aligning it with Kia’s bold Opposites United design language. The front fascia now features the brand’s refreshed Digital Tiger Face, complemented by a glossy black grille with darker trim elements for a more aggressive look.
Lighting has been a major focus in this redesign. The SUV receives newly developed projection LED headlamps with a dynamic welcome animation, star-map LED DRLs, refreshed fog lamps and a sleeker set of connected LED tail lamps. Kia has added several visual touches such as sporty 18-inch dual-tone crystal-cut alloy wheels with neon-painted brake calipers, smart automatic door handles, an integrated rear spoiler and new-style skid plates that collectively enhance the SUV’s sporty appeal.
Inside, the Seltos adopts an upscale two-tone black-and-white theme that lends the cabin a clean and premium ambience. The use of leatherette upholstery, soft-touch materials and refined textures elevates the overall quality. At the centre of the interior is a massive 30-inch seamless panoramic display that merges the digital instrument cluster with the infotainment touchscreen for a futuristic feel. Comfort-focused features include a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat equipped with lumbar support, memory function linked to the ORVMs, a relaxation mode for long drives, and a welcome retract function that automatically moves the seat back for easier ingress and egress.
Passengers are also treated to ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger, dual Type-C ports, sunshade curtains, split-recline rear seats, 64-colour ambient lighting and a premium 8-speaker Bose audio system. A dual-pane panoramic sunroof further elevates the cabin atmosphere. On the tech front, the SUV offers wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, proximity-based smart key access and the latest Kia Connect 2.0 connected-car suite that enables remote operations, live data monitoring and OTA software updates. Even system diagnostics and feature add-ons can be delivered remotely without a dealership visit.
Safety sees significant advancement with the adoption of Kia’s global K3 architecture for the first time in India. This platform enhances structural strength, crash protection and overall NVH performance. Standard safety kit includes six airbags, ABS, ESC, hill-start assist, a rollover sensor and rear occupant alert. The SUV also integrates a comprehensive Level-2 ADAS package offering 21 autonomous features such as forward collision avoidance, lane keeping assist, blind view monitoring, smart cruise control with stop-and-go function and a 360-degree camera system.
Under the hood, Kia continues with its well-known set of engines: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol (115 PS/144 Nm), a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol (160 PS/253 Nm) and the 1.5-litre diesel (116 PS/250 Nm). Transmission options vary across engines and include a manual, iMT, CVT, 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
The 2026 Seltos will be offered in four main trims—HTE, HTK, HTX and GTX—with multiple optional packs like Convenience, Premium, ADAS and the exclusive X-Line package. The GTX(A) and X-Line(A) variants receive the most feature-rich configurations, firmly positioning the new Seltos as one of the most advanced SUVs in its class.
