New Renault Duster spied testing:

Renault has started creating excitement around the India-spec next-generation Duster, and it is clear that the brand wants this SUV to feel fresh and different for Indian buyers. Recently, Renault released a teaser showing changes to the exterior design, and now test vehicles with less camouflage have been spotted, revealing more details ahead of its expected debut next month. One of the biggest changes can be seen at the front. Unlike the global Duster, which comes with Y-shaped daytime running lights, the India-spec version uses a redesigned setup where the DRLs narrow and move inward, giving the SUV a sharper look. The placement of the fog lamps has also been changed. While the global model houses them within the lower grille area, the Indian version moves them towards the outer edges of the bumper. The lower grille itself looks different too, as it features fewer but wider inserts, clearly setting it apart. These visible updates suggest that the front bumper is unique to India, and it is likely that the upper grille will also have a slightly different design to match local preferences.
Looking at the side profile, the India-spec Renault Duster appears largely similar to the global version, but it still manages to look premium and modern. The test vehicles seem to be running on the same 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels seen on the international model, known as the ‘exploration’ design. These wheels add to the SUV’s strong road presence and sporty appeal. At the rear, although the latest spy shots do not fully reveal the design, an earlier teaser has already confirmed some important details. The tail lamps will be connected by a light strip that runs across the tailgate and meets the Renault diamond logo in the center, giving the SUV a wide and stylish stance. Renault has chosen to use a regular rear wiper mounted on the glass, instead of a hidden wiper placed under the rear spoiler like the one seen on the Tata Sierra. This choice likely helps keep costs under control while still offering practical usability for daily driving conditions in India.

Inside the cabin, the next-gen Duster for India is expected to follow the overall layout of the global model, but with changes suited to local tastes and requirements. The quality of materials, color themes, and interior trims may differ to better match what Indian customers prefer. Renault does not offer a sunroof on the Duster in international markets, and it is unlikely to introduce one for India either, as adding a sunroof would require major structural changes and increase costs. However, Renault may replace features like heated seats, which are not very useful in India, with more practical options such as ventilated seats. In terms of technology, the new Duster is expected to be well-equipped, offering a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a large 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless phone charging, four USB Type-C charging ports, and an electronic parking brake. Safety is also likely to see a major upgrade, as test vehicles suggest the presence of a 360-degree camera, a feature not available on the global model. Along with this, Renault is expected to offer six airbags and a full set of Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems, making the India-spec Duster safer and more competitive than ever before.
Stay tuned and follow up for more.
