What does the Nissan Tekton get?
The Nissan Tekton is an upcoming compact C-segment SUV that is expected to go on sale in India by mid-2026. It is being developed through the Renault-Nissan alliance and will be built at the Chennai facility, both for domestic sales and select exports. The SUV rides on the CMF-B modular platform shared with the next-generation Renault Duster. Its design takes inspiration from Nissan’s larger Patrol SUV, featuring a strong, upright bonnet, flared wheel arches, bold proportions and full width LED light bars front and rear. On the sides, it will have signature C-shaped lighting elements, roof rails, rugged cladding and pillar-mounted rear door handles. Inside, the cabin will aim for a premium look with layered materials, soft touches, ambient lighting accents, a large touchscreen infotainment unit, and a driver display that likely will be digital. It is expected to be available in petrol and hybrid versions, with higher variants possibly getting more advanced gear such as all-wheel drive. The Tekton is being positioned to challenge strong rivals in this segment like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, and Toyota Hyryder. As for pricing, early indications suggest a starting ex-showroom rate in the region of ₹11 lakh, though final pricing, variant breakdown, and full specification will be confirmed closer to the launch.
