Skoda Auto Volkswagen India (SAVWIPL) wrapped up the calendar year 2025 with its strongest sales performance ever in the domestic market, recording 1,17,000 units sold and achieving a solid 36 percent year-on-year growth, which clearly reflects the company’s steady rise in popularity and customer trust. With better market conditions and strong demand in the compact and midsize car segments, the Group’s combined domestic and export sales reached 1,59,500 units between January and December 2025, highlighting its growing presence both in India and overseas. A key factor behind this success has been the MQB A0 IN platform, which was specially developed to suit Indian roads, driving habits, and customer needs. All locally made Skoda and Volkswagen cars, including the Taigun, Virtus, Kushaq, Slavia, and Kylaq, are built on this platform, showing how deeply the company has invested in localisation. This focus on local development has helped improve affordability, reliability, and overall ownership experience. Another major milestone for the Group was crossing the twenty lakh mark for Made-in-India vehicles, which underlines its long-term commitment to the country. Exports also continued to grow steadily, with total overseas shipments crossing 7,15,000 units. India is now seen as a key production hub, and the company has been actively entering new GCC and ASEAN markets, strengthening its global footprint.

One of the biggest highlights of 2025 was the launch of the Kylaq, Skoda’s first sub-four-metre SUV, which received strong demand and played a big role in boosting sales. Alongside this, the return of the Octavia RS brought excitement back to performance car fans and helped Skoda Auto India record an impressive 107 percent growth. Volkswagen also had a successful year, especially in the midsize sedan category, where the Virtus continued to lead with a 38 percent segment share year-to-date. This made it one of the most preferred sedans in its class. Adding to the excitement, the Golf GTI attracted massive interest, with its initial stock selling out shortly after launch, proving that there is a strong demand for sporty and premium cars in India. Luxury and performance brands under the Group’s umbrella also delivered steady results. Audi expanded its Signature range by introducing new versions of the Q3, Q5, and Q7, while also bringing in the powerful RSQ8 Performance. Lamborghini made headlines by launching the Temerario, while the Revuelto earned praise for its design and performance. Porsche focused on improving customer experiences by expanding to 13 sales points and introducing new retail formats that made buying and owning a Porsche more engaging and personal.

Rounding off an already strong year, Bentley joined SAVWIPL as its sixth brand, with new dealerships opening in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Delhi, further strengthening the Group’s premium presence in India. According to Piyush Arora, Managing Director and CEO of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India, 2025 was a year of meaningful and well-rounded progress for the company. He highlighted that the Group’s success was not just about numbers, but about consistent execution and a clear long-term vision for the Indian market. The strong performance was backed by the company’s Make-in-India strategy, which focuses on deeper localisation, higher production scale, and a well-planned product pipeline. This approach has helped the company grow across all major areas, including manufacturing, sales, and exports. By developing cars that suit Indian customers while maintaining global quality standards, the Group has been able to build stronger relationships with buyers. With its expanding portfolio, rising exports, and growing premium presence, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India has positioned itself as a major player in the country’s auto industry, and the achievements of 2025 clearly show that the company is moving in the right direction with confidence and clarity.
