Top 10 cars sold in India December 2025:

The latest sales numbers for December 2025 clearly show how buyer choices in India are changing, with several models recording strong year-on-year growth. At the top of the list is the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, which has seen a massive jump in demand. It sold 22,108 units in December 2025, compared to just 9,112 units in December 2024, marking an impressive growth of 143 percent. This shows how much buyers now trust the Baleno for its design, comfort, and value for money. Close behind is the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, which also had a great month. It recorded sales of 20,706 units, almost double its previous year’s figure of 10,752 units, showing a strong growth of 93 percent. The Tata Nexon continues to remain a popular choice in the compact SUV space, selling 19,375 units this December, up from 13,536 units last year, with a healthy growth of 43 percent. Meanwhile, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire remains a favorite among sedan buyers, selling 19,072 units, which is a steady increase from 16,573 units last year, showing a 15 percent rise. The Maruti Suzuki Swift also made a big comeback, selling 18,767 units compared to 10,421 units last year, which is an 80 percent jump and proves that the hatchback still has a strong fan base.

Moving further down the list, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza showed stable performance with 17,704 units sold this December, slightly higher than last year’s 17,336 units, recording a modest growth of 2 percent. This tells us that while the Brezza continues to be liked, its sales have remained mostly steady rather than growing rapidly. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga also performed consistently, selling 16,586 units compared to 16,056 units last year, marking a small but positive growth of 3 percent. Families still prefer the Ertiga for its space, comfort, and practical nature. The Tata Punch also held its ground well, selling 15,980 units this December, up from 15,073 units in the same month last year, showing a 6 percent increase. This proves that the Punch continues to attract buyers looking for a compact car with a bold look and good features. Mahindra Scorpio, known for its strong road presence and tough build, sold 15,885 units, rising from 12,195 units last year, showing a healthy 30 percent growth, which highlights the increasing interest in rugged SUVs.

However, not all cars on the list saw positive growth. The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, which has been a long-time favorite among Indian buyers, faced a drop in sales this December. It sold 14,575 units, which is lower than last year’s 17,303 units, resulting in a decline of 16 percent. This drop could be due to changing customer tastes, with many buyers now leaning towards newer designs and feature-rich models. Overall, the December 2025 sales chart shows a clear picture of how the market is evolving. Cars that offer a mix of style, comfort, modern features, and good mileage seem to be doing well. Strong growth in models like the Baleno, Fronx, and Swift proves that buyers are willing to upgrade when they see value. At the same time, steady performers like the Brezza, Ertiga, and Punch show that reliability still matters. Even though a few models have seen a decline, the overall trend reflects a positive and active market where customers are exploring more options than ever before.
