Updated Tata Tiago EV:
The Tata Tiago EV is one of India’s most affordable electric cars, offering a compact design, practical city-friendly size, modern features, two battery options, decent real-world range, and low running costs, making it ideal for first-time EV buyers who want a simple, reliable, and budget-friendly way to switch to electric mobility in the country today for commuters everyday urban use.

The Tata Tiago.ev, which received a small facelift in January 2025, is now expected to get another round of light updates later this year, as new spy shots suggest that Tata Motors is working on a refreshed version of its most affordable electric car, and while the changes are not very obvious at first glance, reports say that the car could feature slightly redesigned headlamps, tweaked front and rear bumpers, and updated tail lamps, with the most noticeable change being a new five-spoke wheel design, even though the brand is likely to continue offering 14-inch stylised steel wheels instead of true alloy wheels like the ICE version, which comes with 15-inch alloys, and along with these exterior changes, Tata Motors may also introduce a new colour option to keep things fresh, although the overall shape and look of the car will mostly remain the same, helping it retain its familiar identity while still looking a bit more modern and updated for new buyers.
Inside the cabin, major changes are unlikely because Tata Motors already refreshed the interior last year with a redesigned dashboard, a new two-spoke steering wheel, and a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and while some buyers might wish for a wireless phone charger, this feature is still missing and will probably continue to be offered only on higher-end models like the Punch.ev, meaning the Tiago.ev will mainly receive small upgrades such as new seat fabrics, updated trims, or fresh colour themes to make the interior feel slightly more premium, while the overall layout, features, and space are expected to stay the same, ensuring that the car remains practical, simple, and easy to use for city driving, especially for first-time EV buyers who want something affordable, compact, and low on running costs without unnecessary complexity.

Mechanically, the Tata Tiago.ev is expected to continue with the same two battery and motor options, where the base version comes with a 45 kW motor producing 60 hp and 110 Nm of torque paired with a 19.2 kWh battery that offers a certified range of 223 km and a real-world estimated range of about 168 km while taking 6.2 seconds to reach 60 km/h, and the higher variant gets a stronger 55 kW motor producing 74 hp and 114 Nm of torque along with a bigger 24 kWh battery that increases the certified range to 293 km and real-world range to around 205 km while cutting the 0–60 km/h sprint to 5.7 seconds, and Tata Motors is not expected to make any major changes to pricing either, with the current lineup including the XE MR at ₹7.99 lakh, XT MR at ₹8.99 lakh, XT LR at ₹10.14 lakh, and XZ+ Tech Lux LR at ₹11.14 lakh (all ex-showroom), which keeps the Tiago.ev one of the most affordable and practical electric cars in the Indian market, making it a strong choice for daily city use, short commutes, and buyers who want to switch to electric without spending too much.
